Automated riveting tool

Allfast Fastening Systems, Inc. has developed the new TACKMATIC handheld automated riveting tool. The RV2000 model is designed for quick installation of the FasTACK temporary fastener, offering cycle time and cost reduction for aerospace assemblies. The device is magazine fed, operates on 90-psi shop air, installs over 30 rivets/min, and weighs approximately 7.5 lb.

Target adapters and accessories

ATT Metrology Services will showcase its new line of durable target adapters and accessories for use with laser trackers, theodolites, and total stations. The adapters were developed for a range of challenging measurement projects across many industries, from aerospace to alternative energy production.

Data-acquisition systems

Diversified Technical Systems, Inc. offers the TDAS ATD, a 32-channel, in-dummy data-acquisition system tightly packaged in less than 2.5 cm3/channel—less than one-third the size of previous systems. The device is designed to fit the entire family of crash test dummies. It includes a powerful microprocessor, high sampling rate of 20K samples/s per channel, rugged design (500 g), non-volatile memory, and Ethernet communications.

Window cleaning solution

DuPont Sontara Aerospace has developed a new window wipe designed exclusively for use on aircraft windshields and passenger windows. The cleaning tool offers an effective cleaning solution for windows manufactured from acrylic, polycarbonate, and glass. The product has been designed with tiny apertures in the fabric that, when used with approved cleaning solutions, create highly absorbent channels that help pull dirt and grit away from the surface, reducing the potential for scratching.

Active pogo systems

Kostyrka GmbH has introduced its ultra-high-precision active pogo systems for machining and fastening. The pogos feature a positional accuracy of 0.005 mm and a small pogo center distance (pitch) of 80 mm when placed in a "bed of nails" configuration. The system also contains a "smart" vacuum cup that swivels and turns itself on and off as dictated by the part presence and the process being performed.
