United Airlines has completed retrofitting its aircraft fleet with air-conditioning recirculation filters that will meet the "True HEPA" standard. The filters are made by Pall Corp. Systems that meet the HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) standard remove at least 99.97% of all air particles 0.3 �m in size. (Human hair measures about 70 �m, dust-mite debris about 10 �m, and bacteria about 0.3 �m.)
