Boeing commits and commits
April was a huge month for Boeing, at least when it comes to the future of its 7E7 Dreamliner. Late in the month its board of directors approved the formal launch of the aircraft, based in large part on an order for 50 7E7s from ANA (All Nippon Airways), the largest such launch order ever for a Boeing twin-aisle jet. Boeing anticipates the need for about 2000 to 3000 aircraft in the 7E7 marketplace over the next 20 years, while Forecast International, an aerospace market intelligence and analyses firm, projects Boeing will sell about 255 7E7s between 2007 to 2013.
