Scotch-Weld Adhesive DP-8005 is solvent-free, and can achieve bond strength greater than the materials joined. In many applications, screws and rivets can be replaced, saving cost, not to mention the time and effort of molding and machining holes. And no mechanical fasteners means improved aesthetics with smooth product surfaces. In addition, surface preparation is also reduced to simply wiping off dust or oil.

With a simple squeeze, the 3M EPX hand-held applicator simultaneously and accurately meters, mixes and dispenses a 2-part adhesive from the convenient 3M Duo-Pak cartridge. Bond quality is consistent, adhesive waste is reduced and metering guesswork and measuring time are eliminated.

Time saving repositionability

Scotch-Weld Adhesive DP-8005 has up to a three minute open time allowing easy positioning and repositioning on multiple or large components. Room temperature-curing helps save cost, space and time associated with ovens, UV lamps and heaters.

Scotch-Weld Adhesive DP-8005 also features a new packaging design. "Previously, packaging for the 19 different structural adhesives in the Scotch-Weld adhesives line was nearly identical," said Joe Stroh, 3M Marketing Manager. "The new packaging is not only more visually appealing, but color-coding and detailed information on the package now helps customers more easily determine which Scotch-Weld Adhesive will work best for their particular job."
