Direct tire-pressure measurement from Siemens, Goodyear

During the SAE 2003 World Congress, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and Siemens VDO Automotive provided more details on their cooperation to provide the first direct "battery-less" tire-pressure-measurement technology. The new Tire IQ system relays specific tire-inflation information to drivers and enables vehicles to comply with government regulations such as the U.S. TREAD Act, which mandates low-pressure warning capability in cars and light trucks.
