austriamicrosystems develops receiver for Keyless Go

Car access systems have evolved from independent functions (mechanical door locks and ignition) to infrared or radio frequency (RF) remote-control entry locks and antitheft immobilizers. A recently developed electronic authentication system simply requires the presence of the electronic key within an entry zone, along with the touch of the handle, to unlock the doors. However, these systems still require insertion of an electronic key into a lock to start the car.
