Emissions/engine analyzers
Ferret Instrument's GasLink Printing Emissions Analyzer and EngineLink Printing Engine Analyzer add a built-in printer to the firm's line of laptop automotive diagnostic equipment. The self-contained, portable analyzers will enable users to run a test, view data onscreen, print a graph, and show it to the customerall without any other hardware.
Mobile data acquisition
The 6005 Mainframe from Pacific Instruments, Inc. is a battery-operated model for mobile testing. The device has space for 72 channels, with room to expand to over 2000 channels by adding slave enclosures. The system is complete with P1660 acquisition and display software and a laptop computer. It operates from 10 to 20 V dc for current-generation or 20 to 56 V dc for future-generation vehicles.
Leak and flow tester
The TME Solution from TM Electronics is a high-resolution leak and flow tester featuring one- to four-channel concurrent or multiple-channel sequential leak and flow testing. The system performs 10 tests on a product, including burst, occlusion, vacuum and pressure decay, crack, and differential pressure or vacuum. Touch-screen, menu-driven operation allows the operator to control the test parameters, examine statistical analyses, or download data files.
Wire-piercing clip
Pomona Electronics' alligator clip test leads are suitable for a range of automotive test applications. Designed for use with multimeters that accept safety-shrouded banana plugs, the test leads feature wire-piercing capability, eliminating the need for insulation stripping and significantly reducing test time. They can be used for tracking signals through the firewall and providing access without causing undue damage to the wire or the bundle.
Leak testing
ITI Qualitek, a manufacturer of nondestructive leak test panels including the Q6000 multi-channel pressure differential/flow tester, is supplying manual load leak test systems. The systems are custom designed to meet requirements in terms of speed, repeatability, and durability. Testing techniques range from pressure differential and pressure decay to mass flow. A check calibration device is supplied with each project.
