For a production road sedan, the figures are quite extraordinary: 5.0-L V10 engine producing 507 PS (373 kW) at 7750 rpm and red-lined at 8250 rpm, maximum torque of 520 N•m (384 lb•ft) at 6100 rpm, with 450 N•m (332 lb•ft) at 3500 rpm. This is the naturally aspirated engine of BMW’s new M5, and it will take the car to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.7 s and to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 15 s. Without its electronic maximum speed limiter—250 km/h (155 mph)—the car would reach 330 km/h (205 mph).
