Red Label for Bentley
-
The Bentley Arnage is to be offered with a 6.75-L engine as an alternative to the standard 4.5-L unit. Improved passenger accommodation, including legroom increased by 50 mm (2 in), and enhanced equipment, including satellite navigation and electronic parking sensors, is now standard. Handling has received attention and the car has additional body stiffness (improved by some 20%). The 6.75-L Arnage will be called Red Label. Power output is 298 kW (400 hp) with 830 N o m (619 lb o ft) of torque. The torque figure is said to be greater than any other production sedan. The Red Label reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) from rest in about 6 s. Transmission is a four-speed automatic. The 4.5-L version of the Arnage is called the Green Label. The interior changes to the Arnage range have effectively provided a long wheelbase version without actually stretching the wheelbase, according to the company. Production of the 6.75-L engine has been re-introduced to Crewe, having previously been assembled by Cosworth Engineering. It continues to power the Bentley Continental.
