System simplifies programmable motion

A modular, programmable motion system from Electro Pneumatic Innovations Inc., called the PowerCube, simplifies the programmable motion process and puts the necessary hardware in 'one cube' that can be easily programmed, network-ed, and linked to other cubes. Each PowerCube provides self-contained hardware and eliminates the need for add-ons, such as servo amplifiers and electronic controls. Within the cube are an integrated servo amplifier, built-in encoder, brushless dc servo motor, reduction gearing, embedded controller, and an optional magnetic brake.
