New engineering center

A new engineering center is being established in the United Kingdom by General Motors Europe (GME). In association with Opel's Technical Development Center (TDC) in Rüsselsheim, Germany, strategic alliances, and manufacturing facilities across Europe, engineers at the Vauxhall Engineering Center will work on new techniques for bodyshell assembly and electrical, trim and chassis issues on current and future products in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) and recreational sectors. "They will jointly be responsible for bringing new products to market and for their ongoing engineering development and support," said Vauxhall. The new Center will be based at the Millbrook Technology Park. Some engineers will be relocating from Japan and Continental Europe.
