ND Industries has solved the problem of maintaining a consistent torque/tension relationship in threaded fasteners with its high-production application process that is applied in a 360° pattern on the inside of the fastener. One specific application involves applying ND ST-3 thread sealant to the internal threads and the bearing face of large-diameter nuts used in automotive differentials. In addition to reducing clamp force scatter, the material provides a seal against fluid leakage past the threads and the bearing surface.
