Two new interior polymer materials from Lear Corp. can be used in door panels, pillars, and trunk trim. The acrylic and polypropylene natural fibers enable manufacturers to reduce mass while contributing to passive safety. The environmentally friendly materials have enhanced elasticity, which eliminates potentially sharp edges caused by conventionally brittle panels that may fracture during an accident.
