The ADP3050 from Analog Devices, Inc. is a current mode controlled 1-A step-down switching regulator IC for industrial instrumentation and automotive applications such as distributed power systems, battery chargers, and as a pre-regulator for linear regulators. The part's design allows for up to 30% wider input (3.6 to 30-V input range) and 20% better thermal performance than competing devices. It has a 6-V load dump rating, 200-kHz switching frequency, and 3% output accuracy.
