Rotary position sensor
American Electronic Components, Inc. has developed a smart or programmable noncontacting Hall effect rotary position sensor. This technology can be used in applications such as throttle position, pedal position, ride height, transmission position, and EGR valve position sensing. The programmability of the sensor allows an OEM to calibrate the sensor electronically after it is installed in the application, thus negating mechanical stack-up and process variations. The integrated circuit has EEProm circuitry with an operating temperature range of -40° to +150°C and onboard temperature compensation. The sensor has 1.5 milliamp maximum current and an extended operation of 4-8.5 volts.
