Siemens Automotive has developed a series of enhanced airflow sensors for reducing nitrous oxide emissions. Air management is a factor in the reduction of internal combustion engine emissions. The mass airflow (MAF) sensors measure airflow in manifold channels to determine the most efficient air/fuel mixture for achieving clean burns. The type C MAF also achieves a weight and dimension reduction of 40% when compared to conventional MAF devices.
