Valeo's Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooler, a key component of the EGR system, helps reduce NOX emissions without adverse effects on fuel consumption. The development, performed in close cooperation with engine developers and engine OEMs, exhibited NOX reduction potential up to 15%. The heat exchanger in tube and shell design (nickel brazed with stainless steel materials) is able to withstand temperatures to 1300ºF (700ºC) and chemical attacks from exhaust gas condensates for the life of the engine. The company has developed a complete range of products, in various diameters, suited for diesel engines from 1.5-16 L.
