TRW's new tire monitoring system provides added safety and improved performance for vehicles equipped with either run-flat or conventional radial tires. The system uses a radio-frequency sensor/transmitter on each tire to measure pressure and then transmit the information to a receiver located in the vehicle interior. A display alerts drivers to sudden loss of pressure. The system offers mounting and size options for the transmitter. Mounting options also are available for the receiver, which can be integral part of the vehicle's remote keyless entry system.
