The latest of a series of sports cars from the Walklett Brothers (Ginetta) -- the DARE DZ -- contains a factory-installed Rotrex supercharger. Scanpower's Rotrex leverages the benefits of the centrifugal turbocharger compressor with the immediate response of having the crankshaft drive the compressor/impeller directly via a patented gear drive. The gear drive features high-speed traction-based technology with a built-in variable torque transfer capability. This enables less power consumption, making the system more emissions- and system-efficient than other known technologies. The reliability is maintained despite revs above 100,000. The Rotrex S/30 supercharger is available in three models: the 64, 84, and 94/104 models, giving performance from 112-335 kW (150-450 hp).
