Mazda Motor Corp. has developed a three-way catalyst for gasoline engines that reduces pollutants, increases fuel economy, and improves engine performance. It reacts at a temperature 70^C cooler than the 250-300^ of standard catalysts. Heat resistance of the device, used in the 626 model in Germany, is 100^C higher than that of conventional catalysts.
