Teleflex's micro-impulse-based fuel level sender is based on a U.S. Department of Energy micro-power impulse radar technology. With no moving parts to fail, the sensor measures fluid level by launching low-power ultra-wideband RF pulses down a probe. Reflected pulses from the fluid surface are sensed, providing continuous, accurate fluid level measurement to a standard fuel gauge. The microprocessor-controlled unit is intended for harsh environments. It provides accurate measurement even in odd-shaped tanks.
