FER Fahrzeugelektrik GmbH Eisenach has introduced the steering angle sensor. It consists of an EMV housing manufactured in a lightweight construction in which two precision bearings are incorporated. These bearings allow for data recordings via a hollow shaft. The sensor functions according to an inductive measuring principle allowing for precise readings of angles of rotation. Applications include measuring the wheelbase, registering the angle of steering, or measuring torque.
