Endevco Corp. (www.endevco.com) is offering the 7591 and 7592 variable capacitance MICROTRON accelerometers. The products incorporate mechanical overrange stops and gas damping, which allow them to withstand shock loads up to 10,000 g. Available in ±2, 10, 30, and 100 g versions, the units provide sensitivity up to 1000 mV/g. The accelerometers are based on a patented variable-capacitance microsensor fabricated in an array of three micromachined single-crystal silicon wafers. They have been tested to endure 90,000 g shocks with only a slight variance in performance. Operating temperatures range from -54° to +121 °C.
