Takao Asami, Corporate Vice President, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
Takao Asami is the Corporate Vice President in charge of the Nissan Research Center. In this position, he manages global research activities in the field of automotive technologies. He also serves as president of NISSAN ARC, which is Nissan's subsidiary specializing in material analysis service. He joined Nissan in 1981, to work on the development of electrical and electronics systems. In 1995, he moved to Michigan to focus on the development of vehicles produced in the North America for six years. In 2006, he moved to France as Vice President of the Advanced Electronics Division of Renault. He returned to Nissan in 2009 as Corporate Vice President, responsible for the Nissan Research Center. Asami holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tokyo and a Master of Science from the University of Southern California.
