Jay Joseph is a Senior Manager in the Product Regulatory Office of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. In this role, he works with each of the Honda product lines in the U.S., including: Automobile, Motorcycle and Power Equipment - spanning a range of products that includes automobiles and light trucks, on- and off-road motorcycles, ATVs, personal watercraft, marine engines, lawnmowers and other gas-powered small engine products. In this position Joseph represents Honda on safety, regulatory and defect matters to government agencies, including NHTSA, CPSC, NTSB and the U.S. Coast Guard. In addition, he participates in ANSI and international standards development activities through several organizations, including the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) where he serves as a member of steering committees, chairs committees and task forces, is the document sponsor of several standards, and has been recognized by the Technical Standards Board for his outstanding contribution. Joseph is currently chair of the Safety Subcommittee of the Association of Global Automakers Technical Affairs Committee and has served on the Hydrogen Executive Leadership Panel of the National Association of State Fire Marshals. Since joining Honda in 1998, Joseph worked in external communication and product planning positions in the automobile division prior to joining the Product Regulatory Office to work on safety and regulatory compliance matters.
