Floyd Allen, Powertrain Systems Executive, FEV, Inc.
Floyd Allen is currently Powertrain Systems Executive at FEV, Inc. He has served in this capacity with FEV for 6 years following his retirement from DaimlerChrysler in 2004. Prior to joining FEV, Mr. Allen was with DaimlerChrysler for 40 years, in a wide variety of increasingly responsible Powertrain management positions, and at his retirement was the Vice President of Powertrain Engineering for the Chrysler Group. Allen has over 45 years of experience in research, design, development and production of powertrain components and emission control systems. Direct experience includes design, mechanical development, NVH development, production tooling and manufacturing of base engines, fuel injection and delivery systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, intake systems, transmissions (manual, automatic, CVT & DCT), shifter controls, clutches, powertrain mounting systems, 4WD transfer cases, AWD torque transfer devices, and axles. During his tenure with Chrysler, Allen played a key role in the design and development of the new engines, transmissions and emission control systems introduced by Chrysler in the 70's, 80's, 90's and early 2000's. He has a BSME from Purdue University, a Master of Automotive Engineering from the Chrysler Institute of Engineering, and an MBA from Wayne State University.
