Neil Armstrong, President, e-Drive & Powertrain, Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, Inc.
Neil Armstrong is currently President at eDrive and Powertrain at Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, Inc. In this role, he is responsible for the development of high voltage components and systems including software for Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars. Armstrong joined Mercedes-Benz in April 1993, in the Engine Research and Development Group in Germany, and moved to the U.S. in 2005 taking on global responsibilities for electrified powertrain development, prior to assuming his current role. Previously, he held positions involving hybrids systems and components for BMW, GM and Chrysler. Armstrong has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Nottingham University and a PhD in Combustion Diagnostics Technology, Engineering from Cambridge University.
