Audley Brown, Director - Global Engine Advanced Engineering, General Motors Company
Audley Brown is a Jamaican born American automotive engineer. He joined the General Motors Company as a full-time employee in 1991, as an associate engineer. After various positions in Powertrain Engineering and Motorsports Technology, he was appointed Engineering Group Manager of Software Release Readiness in 2000. Shortly thereafter, he relocated to Shanghai, China, to adapt and develop powertrain controls for the local Chinese market. After this international experience, he returned to the United States and was promoted to director of Powertrain Control System Integration and Applications in 2004. In 2006, he transitioned into Advanced Engineering for General Motors Powertrain Division. He currently has responsibility for future GM engine technology and racing engines as Director of Global Engine Advanced Engineering. Brown is the General Motors Key Executive for North Carolina A&T State University. In this capacity, he works with the university to develop mutually beneficial strategic recruiting and research plans. He is also a General Motors functional recruiting leader for the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). In this role, he is actively involved in Formula Hybrid and Formula SAE student competitions. Brown earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University (formerly General Motors Institute) and Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University.
