Honda R&D Americas, Inc. Frank Paluch is President of Honda R&D Americas, Inc. (HRA) which is responsible for the complete product creation of Honda and Acura automobiles and light trucks, and Honda powersports and power equipment products, for North American and global markets. Paluch joined HRA in 1992 and soon thereafter spent one year at Honda's R&D Center in Tochigi, Japan, working on the body design of the 1st generation Accord V6. Beyond developing his capability in automotive body engineering design, this experience enabled him to grasp the Japanese culture and language. Upon his return to the United States in 1994, he continued to advance his knowledge of vehicle development and, after completing various projects, rose to the level of Chief Engineer with overall responsibility for the development of two all-new vehicles: the 2001 Acura MDX, 2003 Honda Pilot and 2nd generation Acura MDX which was introduced in 2007. He was promoted to Vice President of HRA in 2007, then Senior Vice President and Director in 2011, where he was responsible for direct oversight of complete-vehicle research, design and development, and enterprise IT systems. Paluch maintained this role until moving to Honda North America Services, LLC in 2013, where he was responsible for manufacturing cost, new model development and regional profit strategy. A graduate of the Ohio State University, Paluch holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. He was previously employed by McDonnell Douglas Corporation as a lead project engineer for aircraft modification programs throughout the United States and in Italy, Portugal, England and Thailand. In 2000, Paluch was recognized by the Automotive Hall of Fame and received the Young Leadership & Excellence Award, which is intended to "identify the next generation of leadership in the automotive industry."
