ADM21
ADM has developed a wire-less heat-treated wiper using the same technology of "flat" blade designs, . Powered by micro-solar panels, the wiper consumes the sun's UV rays and translates that energy into heating the windshiled. Innovation after innovation, the TFT blade looks to further revoluntionize the market and industry. Modern windshield wiping technology is making driving safer than ever. One of the most significant developments in wiper technology has been the "flat" blade- it gieves exceptional visibility. The absense of hinges and joints prevent the buildup of snow and ice which thus contribute to longer product life span. More importantly, the precise tension of "flat" blades gives an accurate fit over the curvature of the windshield- ensuring quiet, soft and excellent wiping capabilities.

Albonair GmbH
Albonair will be displaying an optimized air assisted urea dosing for passenger cars. Regulations for diesel exhaust emissions are becoming stricter, not only for commercial vehicles but in the passenger car market too. Automotive manufacturers have to face up the challenge to meet the emission legislation. Amongst others, the nitrogen oxides in the exhaust gas have to be reduced. This can be done by SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction), a worldwide applied technology. As SCR catalysts need the additional reducing agent DEF, an aqueous urea solution, all SCR systems require a urea dosing system as their central element. The Albonair SCR system for passenger cars combines robustness and simplicity with a cost effective design at very low space requirements. The system approach allows customers to take a choice between the integration of single parts into their exhaust systems or the outsourcing to Albonair as a supplier of the complete system including control unit, urea tank, dosing unit with nozzle and the muffler system.

Cambustion
Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs) have been adopted for light to heavy duty diesel engines as a means to reduce particle emissions and comply with legislation around the world. Cambustion have developed a technique which uses multiple microphones to allow detection of vibrations in the DPF associated with thermal cracking. A surface microphone coupled directly to the DPF substrate measures brick vibration, while a background detector measures exhaust system and canning vibration to identify and exclude non-cracking thermal expansion. The ability to detect cracking (especially the initial stages of cracking) of a DPF, without having to remove it from the engine or vehicle is extremely attractive to vehicle OEMs and after-treatment manufacturers. Cracking of the DPF may occur at any time during development, and it is desirable to have an online technique which can detect this and relate it to the engine operating conditions causing the crack. With lengthy durability requirements on after-treatment systems, identifying incipient failures (while the system still meets its performance requirements) can save time and money. Refinement of the regeneration strategy can also lead to fuel economy improvements.

The SWIFT virtual engine-cylinder enables engineers to work at their desktop to devise alternative in-cylinder control strategies for optimal transient engine performance. The product improves the state-of-the-art by adopting a more robust "physics-based" solution which can properly account for ignition, injection, turbulence and flame propagation events, yielding accurate computations of heat release, misfire, knock, and all regulated exhaust gas-phase emissions (NOx, uHCs, CO) as well as particulate matter sizes, masses and morphologies. These results are achieved whilst still fulfilling ultra short computational times (less than 1µs/engine cycle), a major requirement for transient control simulation and analysis. The SWIFT virtual engine-cylinder adds state-of-the-art, physics-based in-cylinder simulations to customers transient solutions. The SWIFT cylinder can be embedded as a virtual cylinder into all industry leading 1D engine cycle simulation tools such as GT Power, Ricardo WAVE (see Figure 1), AVL Boost etc.; these tools account for intake and exhaust breathing processes but replace their usual in-cylinder sub-models with a set of SWIFT cylinders. Information such as in-cylinder pressures, temperatures, mixture composition including fuel and exhaust gas emissions are passed automatically and are displayed using the native visualisation tools. The SWIFT cylinder produces instantaneous and accurate predictions of exhaust gas emissions, such as PM mass, PM size distributions, NOx, CO and uHCs which can be mitigated in-cylinder or by using aftertreatment control strategies.

This innovative optical design allows Hawkeye borescopes to deliver excellent image quality at prices one-third that of comparable visual inspection instruments. Hawkeye borescopes are proudly made in the USA in Rochester, New York, the Worlds Image Capital®. The heart of a borescope design is the relay lens system. Conventional rigid borescope designs typical use anywhere from 24 to 48 individual lens elements in the optical early system, thus making the scopes expensive and difficult to manufacture. This is particularly true in the smaller diameter borescopes where the actual lens diameters range from 1mm up to about 3mm. Gradient Lens Corporation's new endoGRINS® design has made that easier and less costly, replacing all of those elements with a single long gradient index relay lens. Our unique patented endoGRINs technology allows us to color correct the optics, eliminating chromatic aberration and providing crisp clear images.
Grail Engine Technologies
The Grail Engine (Grail) internal combustion engine (ICE) solves a number of problems that currently plagues the automotive industry and our environment. The Grail ICE is capable of lowering fuel consumption The Grail ICE uses less fuel and burns much cleaner, reducing harmful emissions as mandated by current federal CAFE regulations. The Grail ICE decreases material and manufacturing costs. The Grail ICE is capable of using alternative fuels. The Grail ICE is capable of maintaining and/or exceeding expectations for engine performance. The Grail ICE technology can be implemented years earlier than what federal 2016 CAFE currently mandates. The Grail Engine break through design draws upon historical and proven engine technology. The Grail ICE utilizes pneumatics to exchange air through a piston valve and exits through an exhaust valve at the top of the cylinder. The Grail ICE provides power to the crankshaft at every revolution. The Grail ICE does not allow cross contamination of oil in the combustion chamber. Development of an appropriate engine management system with a digitally actuated exhaust valve mechanism allows the Grail ICE to operate utilizing multiple fuel types (on-the-fly). The Grail ICE is capable of homogeneous charged compression ignition (HCCI) producing maximum fuel efficiency throughout the entire rpm power band. The Grail ICE introduces a new ground breaking concept known as Forced Semi-Homogeneous Charged Compression Ignition (FS-HCCI) - a combination of HCCI while simultaneously operating in the Miller Cycle. To our knowledge, no other piston engine in the market place can produce this distinctive trait at this time.

Scuderi Engine
The Scuderi Engine is an advanced split-cycle configuration that separates the four strokes of a conventional engine (intake, compression, power and exhaust) into two separate, but paired cylinders. The first cylinder is used for intake and compression. The compressed air is then transferred through a crossover passage from the compression cylinder into the second cylinder, where combustion and exhaust occur. By utilizing a unique process known as Firing After Top Dead Center (FATDC), the Scuderi Engine uses a combination of high-pressure air in the crossover passage and high turbulence in the power cylinder. Because the cylinders are independent from each other, the combustion process does not limit the compression ratio in the compression cylinder.

Traditionally, automobiles have been assembled utilizing either Unitized or Body-on-Frame construction. Uni-Chassis creates a new way of manufacturing vehicles that can be lighter, less expensive and more flexible than current vehicle architectures. By connecting stressed front and rear powertrain/suspension structures to a rigid backbone, the frame can be eliminated. Advantages include:
- Ability to adapt different bodies to the same chassis
- Modular Uni-Chassis is flexible by varying backbone length
- Weight, cost and investment savings
- Ability to create a "rolling chassis" before installation of the body
- Molular front structure allows different powertrains within the same architecture
- Ability to decouple chassis loads from body loads
- Decouples chassis and body crashworthiness requirements
- Particularly suitable for PHEV and BEV vehicles by utilizing the battery box to double as the backbone of the Uni-Chassis structure

THT Corporation
Former transmissions were both technically and structurally almost impossible to apply on products that use a motor. TH-Mission is very small and simple in structure so it solves not only the difficulties to apply to any machines powered by a motor but also the problems of former engine-powered transmissions. TH-Mission improves energy efficiency with better performance, saves a lot of space, has a wide range of applicable areas, and is the only transmission powered by a motor. TH-Mission is approximately five times smaller than the current automatic transmission and it is a simple assembly of gears so it is expected that TH-Mission will reduce manufacturing, costs maintenance costs, and gas emission. TH-Mission does not creates shift shock whatsoever and operates same as CVT from drivers perspective which makes driving much more convenient and comfortable. Furthermore, its energy efficiency is excellent so that it will be cheaper to drive cars equipped with TH-Mission.

Ubisense Inc
The Ubisense Assembly Control System (ACS) is based on Ubisense's ultra-wideband (UWB), real-time location system (RTLS) technology. The Ubisense ACS enables automotive manufacturers to spatially automate torque tool operation and tie results directly to particular VINs so that critical torque data is accurately captured and that fastening processes are error-free. Ubisense's RTLS technology enables automobile manufacturers to track the location of each vehicle and tool within six inches of accuracy throughout assembly lines that stretch beyond a mile and to tie torque to VIN with 99.999% accuracy.
On a line controlled by the UbisenseACS, tags on the vehicle are automatically associated to the VIN so that any downstream process can be automated. Instead of wasting time with error prone bar code scans or relying on slow, cumbersome encoders precise vehicle location is always known via UWB signals with accuracy of a few inches. The Ubisense system uses a highly sophisticated dual measurement of RF signal characteristics to precisely pinpoint the location of each tag/VIN. When a similar Ubisense tag is attached to each tool, the Ubisense software is able to automate tool enabling and disabling based on the exact VIN being worked on. Now wireless tools can be virtually tethered and still maintain certainty for torque records.
The ACS system is ideal for flexible lines. Highly customizable products can be manufactured with certainty that proper P-set and process were followed. Integration to the MES system via ACS removes the possibility of human error or process breakdown.

US Department of Energy Vehicle Technologies Program
The U.S. Department of Energy Vehicle Technologies Program (VTP) is helping provide solutions to America's transportation challenges. In 2009, movement of goods and people in America consumed 13 million barrels of oil per day, representing 70% of total U.S. oil consumption and more than twice the amount of crude oil produced domestically. Oil dependence makes the nation vulnerable to supply disruptions and rising prices, while petroleum-powered transportation generates air pollution and onethird of the country's greenhouse gas emissions. Reducing transportation's dependence on oil is vital for achieving U.S. economic and environmental goals.
