About SAE

The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE International) was founded in
1905 and has grown over the years into a comprehensive international membership
organization that serves as a one-stop resource for technical information
and expertise relating to the land, sea, air, and aerospace mobility community.
Based in Warrendale, PA, the SAE is a non-profit membership organization
consisting of 80,000 mobility practitioners in more than 90 countries.
SAE Members are engineers, educators, students, government employees,
and business executives. They design, build, maintain and test a variety
of self-propelled vehicles including cars, trucks, boats, planes, and
spacecraft. Together, these individuals form a diverse network that enables
its members to share information, exchange ideas and generally advance
the field of automotive and aerospace technology.
Among its many services to the public and the profession, SAE:
