Nigel Shields, Senior Development Specialist, Dow Automotive
Nigel Shields is responsible for the development and implementation of new polymer products for the automotive industry with a primary focus on styrenic resins. Nigel works at Dow's facility in Terneuzen the Netherlands and has been involved with polymer research and development and polymer processing for 18 years. He has experience with a wide range of polymers from polystyrene for the consumer electronics industry to high temperature thermoplastics for automotive under the hood applications. Nigel is a Chemical Engineering graduate from Bradford University in the UK.
Tom Shafer, Market Manager for Plastics and Foams, Dow Automotive, North America
Tom Shafer manages Dow Automotive's thermoplastic offering as well as thermoset products. Shafer has held a number of commercial positions for Dow since joining the company in 1989, including roles in Polyurethanes & Emulsion Polymers. His automotive experience includes account management, handling the spectrum of Interior, Exterior, thermoplastic and thermoset Tier 1 & 2 customers. Shafer holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Marketing from Western Michigan University. He is based in Auburn Hills, Michigan, USA.
