Steve EarlAerospace Structures Deputy General Manager
Commercial Programs Vice President for ATK Steve Earl is the Aerospace Structures Deputy General Manager and Commercial Programs Vice President for ATK. His responsibilities include all aspects of commercial program management, customer relationships, financial and operations performance, and new business capture, as well as division functions for communications, cost reduction and other strategic priorities. He has held this position since July 2012 and is based at ATK's Clearfield, Utah facility. Steve joined ATK in 1984 and progressively worked his way up through the engineering organization for the first 20 years of his career. Primarily working in the Aerospace and Launch Division, he eventually became Vice President of Engineering for ATK Strategic and Commercial Launch programs - totaling over $400M in business. Steve led the highly successful Minute Man propulsion replacement program in transition from Pratt & Whitney to ATK. He served as the Titan IV solid rocket motor upgrade chief engineer through the final phases of qualification and the successful inaugural and initial flights. He has also been the Chief Engineer for Bacchus West, the most modern propellant manufacturing plant in the world, where he led the Tooling engineering department. Steve joined the composites team at Clearfield ten years ago and has held the positions of Airbus A350 Program Manager, Clearfield Site Manager, Military Programs Vice President and Launch Programs Vice President for Aerospace Structures. Steve holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is happily married and the proud father of three children. Steve enjoys hiking, camping, outdoor activities, and travel. His favorite locations to vacation are the coast of Maine and Grand Teton National Park.
