She manages the Ford immersive Vehicle Evaluation (FiVE) Lab in Product Development, and provides immersive virtual reality evaluation systems used for industrial design and product development. She develops and deploys highly realistic immersive systems that address the unique challenges of automotive design, engineering and ergonomics. She has led the development of immersive VR systems that satisfy evaluation criteria for engineering, ergonomics and aesthetic design to allow different disciplines in product development to communicate in a common environment.
is an Electrical Engineer, and an Associate Technical Fellow in the Advanced Production Systems group in Boeing Research & Technology. He joined the company in 2003 as an intern, and has worked on multiple government and production programs, and both internal and external research projects. He is currently the principle investigator for technology development projects in Augmented Reality, Machine Vision and Advanced Visualization techniques in the Manufacturing domain. Paul received a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology in May 2004, and a MS degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Digital Signal Processing from California State University Long Beach in May 2008.
is head of Digitally Assisted Assembly (DAA) and technical lead for augmented reality at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC). His research is focused on the medium to high TRL development and integration of AR, VR and wearable technology in respect of MRO and digitally connected environments. With a Masters degree in design & manufacture, Chris has been a specialist in the area of visualisation for over ten years, and has worked specifically within the VR and AR field for the last five years. He has wide range of experience developing applications in aerospace, civil nuclear, automotive and military sectors. Chris is an active member in the VR and AR community and is a key contributor to the High Value Manufacturing Catapult Visualisation forum which is promoting the cross sector adoption of applied advanced visualisation. With the AMRC preparing to move into their state of the art 'Factory 2050' facility, Chris is currently focused on driving AMRC capability in DAA and developing work streams on the applied use of AR and wearable technology.
is the manager of "DMU & Virtual Operations for Industrial Processes" research team at Airbus Group Innovations. He has 18 years of expertise in Virtual Reality as research engineer. His actual research work focus on Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality applied to aeronautic product design, manufacture and maintenance. It includes virtual human simulation, ergonomics, haptics and 3D UI. He is the RHEA project manager, the current VR platform deployed for engineering in Airbus Group business units. He is also the VR expert for ANR (French national research agency) and co-founder and member of the board of the French VR Association (AFRV).
has a PHD in Engineering from Sheffield University, he has worked for the Advanced manufacturing Research Centre ( a part of Sheffield University) for 8 years in the field of advanced aerospace assembly. This has involved the utilization of robotics and metrology and has progressed in the last four years on to the use of augmented reality and virtual reality. A major area of interest is in the integration of technologies into the manufacturing environment so that a complete digital thread can be established from CAD design through to the final assembly and beyond to delivery.
has worked for more than 20 years in the domain of rich media communications, initially in the area of dynamic media technologies on personal computers; she founded, was the editor and publisher of the QuickTime Forum, a publication for QuickTime developers 1991-1993. She developed and promoted programs that increased enterprise adoption of videoconferencing and other real time rich media communications technologies, which are commonplace business tools today. Since 2004, Perey has focused on emerging mobile technologies. Today she is one of the leading experts on mobile Augmented Reality industry, covering all aspects.
Dr. Robin (Rab) Scott
has worked in the field of VR since joining the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre in 2001. He is now Head of VR and Simulation across both the AMRC and its sister organization the Nuclear AMRC (both of which are part of the University of Sheffield). He is also currently the chair of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult Modeling and Simulation forum.
As such, he is determined to develop and embed visualization through VR (or AR) as part of any design and innovation cycle and is looking for new avenues and methods by which to achieve this goal. Recent projects have included factory layout developments including the integration of discrete event simulation into an immersive environment, the development of hybrid (as built and as planned) models and are always looking to adopt and adapt techniques to achieve the goals of industry.
J. Scott Seddon
is a Product Lifecycle Engineer with the Boeing Immersive Development Team with seventeen (17) plus years in Virtual Manufacturing Research & Development. He is currently evaluating the latest immersive and interactive visualization and simulation technology tools to identify solutions for improving complex product design, perfecting manufacturing processes throughout the product lifecycle to reduce design-to-manufacturing cycle time.
Scott joined Boeing over twenty-four years ago and has worked in various areas throughout the company. He started in the tooling department, spent several years as a Manufacturing Engineer and now the last seventeen in developing Virtual Manufacturing and Virtual Reality technologies. He would consider himself as a Subject Matter Expert for providing strategies and guidelines utilizing Virtual Manufacturing (VM) to fulfill producibility requirements - ensure process capabilities match requirements, influence design features for manufacturability, communicate design/build plan results and assessments, and implement process improvements.
specializes in manufacturing factory floor deployment of comprehensive solution sets emphasizing robotics, visualization systems and collaborative knowledge systems. She has contributed on several successful programs: Bomber programs (B2, B1B), Fighter jets (F22, JSF), Space Station, Shuttle, Delta, large scale missile programs, S&IS satellite programs, and Commercial aircraft 777-X. She has played major leadership roles in management and in technical consulting in Seattle-Everett, (Wash), Huntsville, (Al), Charleston,(SC) Huntington Beach and El Segundo (Ca). She is the project manager and principal investigator for Future Factory Technologies, next generation wing development (systems integration) for Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T). She has held management and technical positions in Information Technology, Engineering, Finance and Strategic Business Operations. She holds a BS, MBA and received her PhD in applied decision processing and management with her dissertation focused in Manufacturing: Engineering and Key Future Technology Capabilities for Human Capital Retention. In addition, she holds certifications in knowledge environmental engineering, knowledge management, systems engineering, project management, cost and pricing government contracts -estimating and parametric modeling.
is a project manager in Deere & Company's Customer Support Engineering Department. He is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and promoting new technology for Deere & Company's Interactive Electronic Technical Manual. In this role he leads Deere & Company's Augmented Reality Community of Practice and actively researches AR and VR technologies and products, works with project teams applying those technologies, and advocates standards to assist in their application to manufacturing and product service use-cases. has worked at Jaguar Land Rover for the last sixteen years, and have evolved virtual reality and high-end visualisation over the past nine years. He set up the VRcentre in 2008, which at the time lead the automotive world in resolution and functionally. It was comprised of three walls and a ceiling offering 4x HD and multi functional graphics. He developed techniques to enable visual perception of Jaguar Landrover brands DNA, along with ergonomic processes that have aided the development of challenging design like the Evoque & F-type. Over the past six year he matured the virtual support, and in 2013 finished an extension to the VRcentre - renaming it the "Virtual Innovation Centre" - introducing state of the art technology and resources to further enhance virtual innovation. He is a strong believer in this technology changing the engineering and design landscape, so he continues to work with universities to achieve the goal to create the perceptual equivalent of the real world.
