Ron Bessire Ron Bessire

As Vice President of Engineering and Technology, Ron Bessire is responsible for strategic and operational leadership of the Technical Operations organization, ensuring technical integrity in Lockheed Martin’s products and processes. His responsibilities also include supporting programs through technical concept development, ensuring competency development for the engineering workforce and developing and maintaining processes and tools for the business. Previously, Bessire served as the Vice President of Technology and Product Innovation in Advanced Development Programs for Lockheed Martin. In this capacity, he was responsible for integration of new and advanced technology into enterprise programs and generation of technology roadmaps. Since joining General Dynamics Fort Worth (now Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company) in 1983, Bessire has contributed to a variety of programs as an engineer or part of the management team. He has held positions responsible for development and integration on the F-16, F-22, A-12, and various other programs including F-35.

Julie Whitehead is Director of Air Vehicle Systems for Engineering and Technology for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. She integrates and manages the flight operations, flight test engineering, aviation safety and airworthiness, air vehicle development, materials and processes, and supercomputing/software tool development competencies. Whitehead previously served as Technical Integrity Director for Technical Operations. She also served as the C-130J Program Director responsible for aircraft production for the U.S. and Royal Norwegian Air Forces. Whitehead was Chief Engineer for the C-5 Modernization program, ensuring technical integrity of the C-5 Reliability Enhancement and Re-Engineering development program and support of the C-5 Avionics Modernization Program. Whitehead received her bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla.

Hal Morrison is the Senior Manager of Air Vehicle Development for Engineering and Technology for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. Since 2013, he has lead process documentation, competency development, and cross-program technical assistance air vehicle technology areas. Morrison has 30 years of experience in safety-critical electronics design and program management. On the F-35 Lightning II program, he managed teams that developed several key aircraft systems. He has flight control support and development experience on many Lockheed Martin aircraft programs. Morrison received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Louisiana Tech University and a master’s degree in systems engineering from Southern Methodist University.

Air Vehicle Structural Analysis & Certification Lead

Kendra Gilbert is the Air Vehicle Structural Analysis & Certification Lead for Engineering and Technology for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. Appointed to this role in 2013, she is responsible for process documentation, competency development, and cross-program technical assistance for aircraft structures. Gilbert has 12 years of experience with Lockheed Martin in structural analysis, structural prognostic health management, and program management on the F-35 Lightning II program. Gilbert received her bachelor’s degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering and a minor in business from The Ohio State University and a master’s degree in systems engineering from Southern Methodist University.

Jennifer Seymour is the Air Vehicle Flight Sciences Lead for Engineering and Technology for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. In this role, she leads process documentation, competency development, and cross-program technical assistance for flight sciences. She was selected to lead this team in November of 2013. Seymour has 15 years of experience with Lockheed Martin in stability and flight controls, flight test, and technical management on the F-35, F-22, C-5 RERP, and LM-100J programs. She received a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Central Florida and a master’s in business administration from the University of Georgia.

Lee Sampson is the Program Manager for the LM Fellows Program for the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. In this role, he ensures that the LM Fellows from Aeronautics are made available to offer their unique expertise to help assist with the most critical technical issues at Aeronautics and across the corporation. Lee was selected to lead the LM Fellows program at Aeronautics in February 2013. Sampson has 31 years of experience with Lockheed Martin in Manufacturing Test Equipment, Electronic Laboratories, System Test and Evaluation, University Technical Engagement, and Engineering Operations supporting all LM Aeronautics lines of business. He received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Tennessee at Martin.

Floyd Fazi is a System Engineer working on Advanced Development Programs to mature technologies for transitions on to combat aircraft such as the F-35. He is working with small companies, the U.S. Navy, and U.S. Air Force to define technology maturation and transition plans. He coordinates research in communication networks, flight critical hardware and software, fiber optic communication systems, vehicle management sensors, and system architectures. Fazi is the Lockheed Martin corporate primary point of contact for SAE International. He is also the SAE North Texas Section Chairperson, the Avionics System Division Vice Chairman, and the Flight Control and Vehicle Management Systems Chairperson. His most notable SAE work is leading standards development of the open vehicle system data bus AS5643, which is used on F-35. Fazi is an INCOSE Expert System Engineer with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University.
