Dan Day started his career as a Manufacturing Engineer in the Boeing Commercial Airplane Division in 1990. He earned his Associate Technical Fellow status in 2005 while developing lean Wing assembly systems. He has worked on both fabrication and assembly projects across numerous airplane programs including 9 years on the graphite composite intensive 787. Dan is currently performing research and development in composite wing assembly and automation technology specializing in dimensional management, right size automation and implementation of single piece flow production systems. Dan has also led composite fabrication projects for the wing ribs and spars requiring the integration of design, test, R&D, fabrication and assembly. These experiences have resulted in broad exposure to the many unique costs associated with the design and build of composite structure.
