Senator Stabenow serves as Chairwoman of the Senate Agriculture Committee, and is a member of the Finance, Energy, and Budget Committees. A nationally recognized leader on trade and fair trade issues, she is the Co-Chair of the Senate Manufacturing Caucus and a member of the President's Export Council. In addition, she has authored legislation to increase trade enforcement.

Senator Stabenow is a fervent advocate of manufacturing and the automotive industry. She was recognized on Motor Trend Magazine's Power List for her support of the auto industry, and was the author of the extremely successful "Cash for Clunkers" bill. Her efforts helped the auto industry restructure, save jobs and navigate through the global credit crisis.

The Senator is committed to ensuring America has a 21st Century manufacturing strategy and is the author of a new tax credit for manufacturers that will create incentives for new jobs in renewable energy, batteries, and advanced vehicle technology.
