Opening Keynote: Senator Fran Pavley, CA, Representing Senate District 27
California State Senator Fran Pavley has focused on energy, environmental and transportation issues throughout her legislative career. In 2002, she authored a law limiting greenhouse gas emissions from new cars and light trucks, creating a model for national standards. In 2006, she authored Assembly Bill 32, which set a cap on statewide greenhouse gas emissions through 2020. During the 2013-14 legislative session, she worked with a broad coalition of stakeholders including environmental organizations and the auto and clean technology industries to invest more than $2 billion in advanced transportation and clean air programs. Senator Pavley is currently engaged in efforts to develop long-term greenhouse gas targets to spur innovation and advance collaboration beyond California's borders.
