On Monday, December 4, 2006, in conjunction with the SAE’s 2006 Motorsport Engineering Conference, the second CDS Collegiate Roadshow will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, Dearborn.

This is an opportunity for students involved in any of the SAE’s Collegiate Design Series competitions to improve their knowledge on topics that are not covered in typical university courses.

The subjects to be covered include some of those presented at the first Roadshow at Cedarville University in September, namely, Team Organization, Project Management, Safety, Suspensions 101, and Base Engines & Engine Calibration 101. There will also be additional topics to interest those who did attend the Cedarville event, and will address the basics of wiring and electrical systems, data acquisition, brakes systems and suspension tuning & development.

The speakers are expected to be Paul Gritt, the Senior Specialist, Brake Systems for DaimlerChrysler Corporation, Frank Whiton of GM Race Vehicle Engineering, Jim Kelly from Precision Race Services, as well as Steve Lyman, John Bucknell, both from DaimlerChrysler Corporation, and Michael Royce of Albion Associates who were at the Cedarville event.

Registration fee is $25, and full-time college ID must be provided on site. Lunch will be provided.

There is a limit of 150 students for this event. Advanced registration is required by November 24th.
