I invite you to join me and our executive colleagues in Chicago for this year's North American International Powertrain Conference (NAIPC), to be held on September 18-20, 2013.

This exclusive event for powertrain leaders covers perspectives from across the supply chain, from industry sectors around the globe, - including expanded content this year related to heavy-duty and commercial truck. The event's program is developed by industry leaders who share your challenges and who, like you, want information and ideas that will result in breakthrough solutions. Held under the Chatham House Rule, the conference is a perfect venue for candid dialogue, stimulating debate and rich networking.

The theme of this year's conference is "Contrasting Regulations and Business Objectives - What about the Customer?" It was selected based on current and anticipated impacts of looming regulations, increasing cost pressures, competing technologies, customer impacts, and evolving industry collaboration.

Two leading economic voices of our time will present compelling keynote addresses: Robert J. Gordon, the Stanley G. Harris Professor in the Social Sciences, Northwestern University and Bruce Yandle, Dean Emeritus of Clemson University's College of Business and Behavioral Science and Alumni Distinguished Professor of Economics Emeritus at Clemson.

The event will also include an overview of powertrain trends and future strategies as well as an overview of the survey on 2013 Powertrain Strategies for the 21st Century conducted by Michigan University.

I hope you will join us and take advantage of everything this event has to offer.

I look forward to seeing you in Chicago in September.
