Neville JacksonNeville Jackson is the Chief Technology & Innovation Officer for Ricardo plc, He is responsible for developing the future global vision of automotive and energy technology at Ricardo and for the strategy and planning for internally funded research and development. A graduate of Imperial College, London, his career has included 31 years at Ricardo focused on research and technology demonstration programmes covering advanced combustion engines, hybrid systems and energy recovery technologies. His work at Ricardo has included many initiatives to create new innovative technologies and research collaborations with government, academia and industrial partners. A key focus in recent years has been the development of technology roadmaps in a range of sectors and the associated R&D agenda to deliver them. He is Deputy Chair of the UK Automotive Council Technology Group, a joint Industry/Government association that has created and owns a UK Automotive Technology Strategy & Roadmap and a member of the UK RAC Foundation Public Policy Committee. He is Vice Chairman of the European Road Transport Research Advisory Council (ERTRAC) which is responsible for a European Strategic Research Agenda covering all aspects of road transport. He is a member of the Advisory Board for the European Green Vehicles Initiative (EGVI) which defines priorities for grant supported R&D for the automotive sector. He is also a member of the UK Energy Research Partnership, a visiting Professor at the University of Brighton and a Fellow of the UK Royal Academy of Engineering.
