Ausilio has over 15 years research and consulting experience in bioenergy. He works with industry, investors and governments on a wide range of bioenergy topics and on the development of bioenergy strategies. His work covers techno-economic, environmental, market, business and policy aspects related to bioenergy systems.
He has leading expertise in the area of alternative transport fuels, and has recently led the development of a biofuels roadmap for Europe for a group of fuel and auto companies (www.e4tech.com/auto-fuel.html
). He acts as advisor to private and public sector organisations, including the UK Department for Transport's Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation, the Carbon War Room's renewable jet fuel initiative, the Carbon Trust's algae biofuels and pyrolysis challenges, the UK Energy Technology Initiative's bioenergy programme, and the EC's aviation biofuels Flightpath initiative. He has recently led a bioenergy sector review for the International Energy Agency.
Ausilio holds degrees in Physics and Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, in Environmental Technology with Energy Policy from Imperial College, and has a PhD on techno-economic and environmental aspects of biomass energy from King's College London. He is a Senior Research Fellow at Imperial College London's Centre for Energy Policy and Technology. He has also worked in Switzerland and Brazil and speaks English, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese.
