Steve Whelan

Steve Whelan Steve joined Clean Air Power in 2005 having spent 17 years at Ricardo Consulting Engineers. At Ricardo, Steve managed and directed advanced diesel engine performance and emissions development programs for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). Since joining Clean Air Power as Technical Director, Steve has focused on gaseous alternative fuels for heavy duty powertrain. He is responsible for technology strategy and product development. He has directed the development of Dual-Fuel products that enable diesel engines to operate on natural gas. These products are now in production with OEMs and available as retro-fit systems. During his career he has worked with many of the major automotive OEMs in Europe, USA, Japan, Korea, Russian Federation and China. In addition to this he has interacted with governments, UN organisations, academic institutions and has contributed to many publications and conferences. Steve graduated from Imperial College, London in 1988 with an Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
