"The Tesla Motors Model S Thermal Management System - Considerations for EV Thermal Management"

The Tesla Motors Model S all-electric luxury sports sedan boasts blistering zero to 60 mph times of 4.2 seconds, a top speed of 130 mph, and 416 horsepower. Supporting this performance is the Model S Thermal Management System designed to provide continuous top-end operation of the powertrain, all while keeping the cabin and its occupants comfortable in any climate, with efficiency contributing to the world class EV range of 265 miles. This talk will highlight some of the challenges and solutions considered during the development of the Model S thermal system and Electric Vehicle thermal system development in general.
