SAE Training/Education Programs
SAE Professional Development is an international resource for mobility engineering training and education, serving the educational and training needs of technical professionals around the world. SAE Professional Development programs enroll more than 4000 people annually, 2800 of which attend our seminars at the SAE Automotive Headquarters in Troy, Michigan.
Classroom Seminars
SAE provides high-quality educational seminars that focus on the needs of the mobility industry. Our instructors combine technical expertise with sound instructional practices enabling participants to improve individual performance, apply and stay abreast of new developments, and transfer new knowledge and skills to their organizations.
Corporate/Custom Solutions (In-house Seminars, Webinars and e-Learning)
Capitalize on what dozens of companies do every year. Have SAE design and deliver a training solution in-house to your staff according to your unique needs. Your training solution can be as simple as delivering an SAE Seminar in-house. Or it can involve extensive customization or webinar and online delivery.
Engineering Academies
These are intensive week-long short courses or multi-week series of webinar sessions in a focused technology area. The program is designed for the engineer who needs a compressed, broad-brush immersion in the topic to become quickly proficient and productive on the job. Great for newly hired engineers or engineers in career transition.
e-Seminars
SAE e-Seminars save you travel and time away from the workplace by delivering to your desktop your favorite seminars. Our recorded video modules packaged with reference materials and tests are available online or on CD-ROMs, whenever and wherever you need it.
Fast Tracks
Presented in a 10-120 minute format, these short chunks of learning delivered online combine audio, video, graphics, photos and text to capture the essence of a topic and drive a defined set of outcomes.
Ford Online Courses
Ford and SAE International offer six popular online courses on powertrain and problem-solving topics as a way to extend Ford engineering knowledge across the global industry.
Telephone/Webcasts
Organized by an industry expert with a panel of three to four technology leaders, these live, interactive, one-time broadcasts provide a multi-perspective look at current and emerging technologies and industry issues.
Webinars
SAE Webinars are traditional classroom seminars delivered globally via the web. Webinars are as informative and content-rich as a seminar - but you can participate, live or through recordings, from your desktop. Delivered in one or a series of 90-minute to two-hour sessions, webinars feature audio delivered by telephone, web-based presentations, interactive question-and-answer, and course-specific online forums for posting of supplemental materials and quizzes.
Certificate Programs
SAE has developed programs that package together existing seminars to allow attendees the opportunity to receive an SAE "Certificate of Achievement" and, in some, college credits for completing a defined collection of knowledge courses within a given content area.
Continuing Education Units
SAE's Professional Development department is an Authorized Provider of Continuing Education Units by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). Most SAE Professional Development training and education programs are eligible to receive the IACET Continuing Education Unit (CEU). Additionally, certain SAE seminars and e-Seminars are approved by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR) CEUs.
College Credit
SAE has formed a partnership with Kettering University to enable individuals to apply their SAE coursework towards a graduate degree program and professional certificate.
