Facing the Challenge of Future CO2 Targets: Impact on European Passenger Car Technologies

SAE Torino Group Politecnico di Torino
June 18-19, 2009
Politecnico di Torino
Turin, Italy

Due to the economic climate and high number of uncertainties in the marketplace, SAE International has made a business decision to pass the administration of the 2009 Facing the Challenge of Future CO2 Targets: Impact on European Passenger Car Technologies event to SAE Turin Chapter.

The Symposium will therefore take place as scheduled, but as a SAE Turin Chapter event. Thanks to the support of the Politecnico di Torino and of the Turin Chamber of Commerce, a limited number of free admissions for SAE members are still available.

For additional information, please contact by e-mail: innovazione.tecnologica@to.camcom.it or by phone: +390115716326/3/1 or register through the Web at http://www.promopoint.to.camcom.it/iniziative (starting from June 4th)

Thank you for your interest in participating in this SAE International symposium. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding of our decision. Your participation in future SAE International events will be appreciated.

Facing the Challenge of Future CO2 Targets: Impact on European passenger car technologies

Despite significant advances in vehicle technology in recent years, persistent increases in both vehicle size and traffic volume have continued to inflate the overall volume of greenhouse gases production in the EU and elsewhere.

Join us for this insightful look at new and developing technologies addressing future CO2 targets. The event will combine state-of-the-art technology presentations with face-to-face networking opportunities for professionals focused on meeting the EU's proposed greenhouse gas targets of 120g CO2/km by 2012 and 95g CO2/km by 2020.

The two-track technical program is ideal for those assessing powertrain and vehicle technologies that address the EU's proposed greenhouse gas targets, including:

  • Combustion and emissions
  • Hybrid & electric powertrains
  • Fuels
  • Transmission
  • Mass and friction reduction
  • Aerodynamics
  • Tires
  • Other new and developing technologies.

As an attendee, you will have the opportunity to learn about new and developing technologies, network with other professionals, and attend walking tours of GM Powertrain facilities and the Politecnico labs.
