April 22-23, 2012 Westin Book Cadillac Hotel Detroit, Michigan, USA
This symposium combines technology presentations with networking opportunities for professionals associated with technologies impacting fuel efficiency. The technical program will include an overview of the regulatory outlook followed by discussion of technologies such as advanced and partially premixed combustion, cooled EGR boosting, ignition and direct injection technologies, pressure boosting, intelligent combustion, thermal efficiency including waste heat recovery, fully variable valvetrains, and other new and developing technologies. This year's program also will include a new session on future fluids and fuels for high efficiency engines
Participants will include automotive and light-, medium- and heavy-duty OEMs, suppliers, and academia.
Sessions currently under development include the following:
Overview Session including regulatory overviews from government agencies and technology overviews from major OEMs
Alternative Engine Designs and Technologies including shorter presentations on novel and alternative engine designs and related technologies that have been demonstrated in the laboratory or on the road.
Advanced Combustion Technologies which could include coverage of a range of advance combustion technologies
Component-Level Technologies which could feature coverage of advance component technologies such as ignition systems, boosting and turbocharging, injectors, valves, etc.
Future Fluids for High Efficiency which could include presentations on technologies related to fuels and alternative fuels, lubricants, and other additives
