General Service Issues for OBD (System Code and Component Code Designer Issues)
This inaugural panel will address what OBD is changing about the light and heavy duty service environment and how this affects the service engineer, with each panelist giving a five minute disposition regarding their main concerns. This will be followed by an open Q&A session. Topics of discussion include component DTCs and system DTCs, how and when to use off-board diagnostics, OBD fault state definitions, and isolating a single part failure to avoid random part swapping.
