Sustainable Mobility: A Practical Applications Approach for Engineers Symposium
June 18-19, 2009
NextEnergy, Detroit, MI (located in the heart of TechTown)

Due to the economic climate and high number of uncertainties in the marketplace, a business decision was made to cancel the 2009 Sustainable Mobility: A Practical Applications Approach for Engineers.

Thank you for your interest in participating in this SAE International symposium. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding of our decision. Your participation in future events will be appreciated.

Design or manufacturing engineers have direct involvement with sustainable mobility whether they are aware of it or not. What they need to know is how Sustainable Mobility concepts are translated into technical specifications and product and process design. Participants will discuss how the goals of the 2030 sustainable mobility report can be translated into product specifications that define the design space. This "practical approaches" symposium will address the concepts of sustainability with the idea that if done correctly engineers can walk away with ideas and practices to take back to integrate into their work environment. OEM and supplier case-studies, industry/government cooperative ventures, panel discussions, and a hands-on exercise will introduce participants to concepts and practices of Sustainable Mobility that can be applied to their job functions.
