Internet of Things (IoT) analytics extracts important information from the vast amount of data generated by sensors and smart devices. This IoT Analytics course targets the unmet demand for these skills in every industry vertical. This course, presented by LHPU, will help attendees build IoT capabilities from sensor to analytics using the latest devices and technologies available. Attendees will learn about embedded sensor configuration, developing custom visualizations and analytics. Hands-on exercises will be performed through predictive analytics on the telematics data attendees have produced while leveraging the cloud.

The course is centered around gathering telemetry data from heat racing of R/C cars with a Raspberry Pi device attached. The raw telemetry data and race results will be utilized throughout the week.

Paul Wright began his technology career as a mainframe programmer in the financial services industry and quickly recognized the emerging trend toward client/server computing. Earning the MCSE credential on Windows NT 4.0, he provided desktop, server, and network support in a number of Windows and Unix-based environments.






During the rapid explosion of Internet technologies over the next several years, he acquired mastery of HTML, CSS, ASP, and Microsoft SQL Server, carving out a full-time role as web developer and consultant to the Cook Medical Group companies, the Government of Floyd County Indiana, Continental Quest Corporation, and the Indiana Coalition on Housing & Homelessness (ICHHI).






B2B eCommerce was his next focus, deploying the first EDI server for Diamond Chain Company, a Tier 1 supplier to John Deere, Caterpillar, JI Case and Motion Industries. These skills landed him at Cummins in 2006, where he held management roles in Supply Chain systems, HR Analytics, and a revolutionary Self-Service BI program.






With broad business and technical experience, Paul places emphasis on the soft skills and human dynamics necessary to effectively champion change. He holds a BA from Purdue in Psychology, and an MA from the Chicago School for Professional Psychology with a focus on International Relations.




James Roberts, Vice President of Data Analytics Solutions for LHP Engineering Solutions actively works with his customers' leadership and execution teams to transform their organizations into market and industry leaders by leveraging analytics. James is passionate around driving business results from Self Service Analytics focused on the customers' multi-disciplinary connection of business domain information.






James designed the successful Self Service BI program while at Cummins which led to accolades from Microsoft, including becoming a part of their Executive Briefing meetings.
His analytical approach to solving problems was formed from his technical and business career at Caterpillar, as a Microsoft consultant, working for the CIO at Community Health Network in Indianapolis, and progressive leadership roles in Cummins's supply chain, marketing, and business intelligence and analytics programs.






James began his career at Caterpillar, developing technical solutions for their plant line system. As a Microsoft consultant, James helped Caterpillar build their Value Analysis Resource Center which cross analyzed all Caterpillar products vs. their competitors against a range of value based attributes. James joined Cummins Inc. in 2008 in charge of the ECommerce and Supply Chain launch of a new ERP system at their engine plant in the United Kingdom and worked with 3PLs on fully integrating business information flows through EDI.






James led the business intelligence group for Sales and Marketing of Aftermarket Parts which included supporting the annual operating plan, strategic planning, and synchronized business planning. This work laid the foundation of pricing improvements for Aftermarket Parts and Self Service Analytics.






James completed the Leadership Development Program at Cummins and was awarded their Engine Business Unit Service Hero Award in 2012. James has been a guest speaker on analytics at Purdue University's Krannert School of Management and Indiana University's Kelley School of Business MBA programs. He was also nominated for Indiana University's Institute for Business Analytics Annual Analytics Leadership Award.
